The Power of Presence

We recognize the vital role that fathers play and are committed to supporting them in becoming the best they can be.

The goal of this Fatherhood Summit was to provide fathers with the opportunity to connect, learn, grow in their parenting journey, and to remind them just how important their presence is in shaping their children’s future. Through engaging workshops and a resource fair, we offered fathers valuable tools and insights to encourage active involvement in their children’s lives, strengthen family bonds, and connect them with essential community resources to support their parenting journey.

The Ventura County Fatherhood Summit was a collaborative effort between the Ventura County Department of Child Support Services, First 5 Ventura County, Hope & Comfort, Rio School District, Chase Bank, County Schools Federal Credit Union, United Parents, and Rainbow Connection.

The event took place on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Rio Del Valle School, located at 3100 N. Rose Ave, Oxnard. It featured a wide range of opportunities for fathers, including engaging workshops in English, Spanish, and Mixteco, access to county resources, exciting prizes, and the chance to connect with other fathers. Free childcare and dinner were provided to ensure that all participants could fully engage in the event. We also introduced a Mixteco arts and crafts workshop for the mothers in attendance.

A huge thank-you to all the fathers, organizations, speakers, volunteers, and sponsors including Rio School District, Chase Bank, County Schools Federal Credit Union, the Marco Jimenez Family, and Rainbow Connection, who made the second Fatherhood Summit possible.

Thanks to everyone’s contributions, we were able to host this amazing event for fathers in our community. We enjoyed spending the day with fathers and father figures, and we look forward to next year’s Fatherhood Summit!
