ART PROJECTS\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>

Piru Circles<\/a><\/span>

Recreational Trail Public Art Mural Project<\/span><\/a>
Click on \u201cRecreational Trail Public Art Mural Project\u201d for information regarding the public art component on a concrete retaining wall that was built as part of the Piru \u2013 Camulos Recreational Trail Project.<\/p>

CAPITAL PROJECTS<\/strong><\/p>

Utility Undergrounding \u2013 Construction was completed in April 2001 on undergrounding of overhead utilities in the downtown area. [Center Street (Main to Piru Creek), Via Fustero, Main Street (Via Fustero to Center)]<\/span><\/p>

Decorative Streetlights<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 In conjunction with utility undergrounding, thirty-four new street lights were installed. [Center Street (Main to Via Fustero)]<\/p>

Piru Town Square<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 Completed construction of Piru Town Square in December 2002, including brick square, shade arbor, restrooms, railroad platform\/ bandstand, parking, lighting, and bike path. [Center Street (between Piru Square and Via Fustero)]<\/p>

Alley Lights<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 Installed overhead lights in all alleyways in FY 2001-02.<\/p>

Piru Wastewater Treatment Facility<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 Improvements were completed in FY 2002-03, bringing the Piru Sewer Treatment plant into compliance with regional water quality standards and providing an additional 114 sewer hookups to the community.<\/p>

Sidewalk Improvements<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 New sidewalks and sidewalk replacement along both sides of Main Street were completed in March 2006. Components include approximately one mile of sidewalk construction or replacement with curbs and gutter, wheelchair ramps, raised dot crossings and improved traffic control devices at seven pedestrian crossings. Community Drainage System<\/span>\u00a0\u2013 On June 3, 2008, a construction contract was awarded for construction of a storm drain system on Main, Orchard, and Center Streets in Piru to address recurring flooding and drainage problems.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t
