Federal Rules Expand CalFresh Work Requirements
Beginning June 1, federal rules require that more people work, volunteer and/or attend school for 80 hours a month to receive continuous CalFresh food benefits. There is a three-month grace period, meaning if you apply for or renew CalFresh benefits
Benefit Replacement for Sandy Fire Food Loss
CalFresh clients who lost food due to power outages or evacuations due to the Sandy Fire and related power outages that began on Monday, May 18, 2026, can request a replacement of your CalFresh benefits until Monday, June 8, 2026.
