| Beginning June 1, federal rules require that more people work, volunteer and/or attend school for 80 hours a month to receive continuous CalFresh food benefits. There is a three-month grace period, meaning if you apply for or renew CalFresh benefits on June 1 without meeting the requirements, your benefits will end on Sept. 1.
