SUMMARY:Fall Prevention Forum
DESCRIPTION:The Ventura County Fire Department will host the annual Fall Prevention Forum on Friday\, Sept. 26\, at their headquarters in Thousand Oaks. \nThe event is free to attend\, but participants must pre-register by filling out the registration form at vcfd.org/senior-citizen-safety. For questions\, call 805-389-9746. There is limited space available\, and sign-ups are first-come\, first-served. \nThe event will run 8 a.m. to noon at the Fire Department Headquarters (2400 Conejo Spectrum St. in Thousand Oaks). \nOrganized by the Ventura County Elderly Fall Prevention Coalition\, the Forum takes place during Fall Prevention Awareness Month. The goal is to help attendees learn to protect themselves from life-altering – and sometimes fatal – falls. \nIt features educational speakers\, balance-enhancing activities and demonstrations\, health assessments\, complimentary food and vendor exhibits.
