Special Use Permits

Certain events held in County parks will require a Use Permit(s) per County of Ventura ordinance.  Examples of events that require a Use Permit(s) are:

• Large groups or parties that:
  están abiertos al público, o
  tendrán puestos de venta de bienes o servicios, o
  venderá cerveza, vino o alcohol, o
  contará con sonido amplificado (DJ o banda en directo), o
  tendrá un Jolly Jumper, payaso, etc., o
  rodarán dentro del parque (aplicable a cineastas profesionales y estudiantes de cine).

El número de permisos de uso necesarios para un evento depende del tipo de evento. Por ejemplo, una fiesta privada de 250 personas que cuente con un DJ en directo, un puesto de margaritas que venda bebidas por copas y un Jolly Jumper requeriría los siguientes permisos de uso:

• Un permiso de sonido amplificado para el DJ en directo
• Un permiso de venta de alcohol para vender Margaritas
• Un permiso de uso especial para el Jolly Jumper
• A Alcohol Beverage Control Permit (not issued by the County of Ventura)

Special Use Permits are issued for events including but not limited to organized sporting events and races, vendor fairs, non-profit events, and more. Please complete and submit the Special Use Permit Application with complete details for consideration of your event.

Commercial Film and Photography Permits

Commercial Filming Permits are issued for video and still photography for commercial or professional use. Please complete and submit the Commercial Filming Permit Application with complete details for consideration of permit approval. Permits for professional photography are $190 per day, per location. Photography permits without props can be obtained over the phone or via email to County.Parks@Ventura.org. Photography for multi-day, multi-location or with props will require a special use permit and a certificate of insurance naming the County as an additional insured.

Applicable fees will be determined based on the information provided in your permit application.
