Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training in Spanish

On six consecutive Tuesdays, February 3–March 10, 2026, from 6:15–9:15 p.m., the Oxnard Fire Department will conduct the Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training series in Spanish. These trainings will be held at the Oxnard Fire Administration Office located at 360 West Second Street. A one-day disaster simulation wraps up the course and will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2024, from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Participants must be 18 or older. Students ages 12-17 may attend if accompanied by an adult. No childcare is provided. You must attend ALL sessions to receive a certificate of completion.

The CERT program educates volunteers about disaster preparedness. Residents who are interested in serving our community by assisting their families and neighbors during emergencies or other disaster situations, can learn basic disaster response skills, such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations.
