On April 8, 2025, the Ventura County Board of Supervisors adopted a resolution to dissolve the Oak View Advisory Commission (OVAC) in its current form. This decision followed a majority vote by OVAC members at their final meeting on March 10, 2025, to transition to a Neighborhood Council model. This new model aims to encourage more flexible and responsive community engagement by allowing for more frequent meetings, informal interactions with residents—free from the procedural limitations imposed by the Brown Act.

As we move forward with this new model of engagement, we encourage residents to stay connected with the newly formed Oak View Neighborhood Council (OVNC). The OVNC will meet bimonthly in the Kunkle Room at the Oak View Community Center, located at 18 Valley Road, Oak View at 6:30 pm, with the next meet set for Monday, July 14th.

As we embrace this new format, the Supervisor’s office remains committed to staying connected and supporting the Oak View Neighborhood Council in building a strong platform for local community involvement.
