  • 2-1-1 Information & Referrals
    211 connects over 20,000 Ventura County callers each year with information about services available to them, including: basic needs resources (i.e. food, clothing, and shelter), physical and mental health resources, domestic violence services, substance abuse services, employment support, rent and utility assistance, senior services, services for persons with disabilities, support for children, youth and families, legal assistance and much more.

    The Human Services Agency delivers services that help ensure the protection of children, the elderly and dependent adults; provides a safety net for individuals and families who need assistance with basic necessities, such as food, housing and health care; and helps people secure employment through education, training, job search skills, and job placement.

Senior Services

  • Adult Protective Services – Report Abuse & Neglect
    Adult Protective Services responds to allegations of abuse and neglect of dependent adults and seniors, and provides voluntary case management services.
  • Area Agency on Aging (VCAAA)
    The VCAAA is always working to better the lives of seniors in Ventura County.  We are involved in the community through collaborations and programs and are always looking to advocate on senior issues.
  • Senior Information and Assistance
    The Information and Assistance Program is provided under the guidelines of Title III B of the Older American’s Act and is designed to link persons aged 60 and above (and their families and caregivers), who are in need of assistance to the appropriate programs and services in their communities that can help solve the problems faced by older adults. This is considered the entry point/introduction to the services system network.
  • Senior Nutrition
    The Senior Nutrition Program services provide a vital link in maintaining the health and independence of older adults in Ventura County by preventing premature institutionalization and improving overall quality of life.
  • Case Management
    Case Management programs arrange for, and monitor the use of, community services to help the frail elderly, and/or disabled to avoid or delay institutional placement while fostering independent living. These services are offered by public, nonprofit, and for-profit agencies. See service provider listing for more information.
  • Health Insurance Counseling & Advocacy
    The purpose of the Health Insurance Counseling and Advocacy Program (HICAP) is to provide free counseling and community education on Medicare, Medicare Part D, managed care, and other health insurance issues.
  • Family Caregiver Programs
    Our Family Caregiver specialist is here to help you connect with programs and information such as caregiver respite, services for chronically ill or impaired seniors, health services, housing, in-home services, health insurance counseling, intergenerational activities, nutrition and transportation.
  • Elder Help Program In-Home Services
    The Area Agency on Aging’s ElderHelp Program In-Home Services provide personal care, homemaker, chores, food boxes, emergency material aid, minor home repairs, modifications, and/or security devices to frail seniors.
  • In-Home Supportive Services
    The Human Services Agency’s In-Home Supportive Services program assists elderly individuals and those with disabilities to remain safely in their homes by connecting them with provides who help with personal care, housekeeping, shopping, and errands.
